2006 Honda Civic Sedan
Another staple in Honda's line up of traditionally exceptional vehicles
is the Civic Sedan, an extremely popular choice across a broad spectrum
of buyers, especially families. Drivers appreciate them for the economical
delivery of quality, longevity, excellent performance, and array of standard
and optional features.
Available Models
Lining up for 2006 are three sporty yet sophisticated models:
Civic DX Sedan, Civic LX Sedan, and Civic EX Sedan. Each contemporary
model builds on the previous in terms of features and benefits.
Interior Features
The Honda Civic DX Sedan starts us off with interior standard
such as an AM/FM stereo with four speakers and clock, a handy 60/40 split
folding rear seat, adjustable steering column, front cup holder, and 12.9
cubic feet of trunk space. Air conditioning with air filter and a driver's
armrest are both available.
Moving along to the Civic LX, the sound system is upgrade to include
a cassette player, and standard conveniences include power windows, power
door locks, driver's armrest and illuminated switch, cruise control, map
lights, front cup holder with lid, and standard air conditioning with
filtration.
The Civic EX throws it all together and adds an anti-theft CD player,
front and rear cup holders, and a manual seat height adjuster.
Exterior Features
Basic fare on the DX and LX models include fourteen-inch wheels
with full wheel covers, while the upper-end EX sports fifteen-inch wheels
with full covers. LX includes dual power outside mirrors, and the EX has
color-keyed dual power outside mirrors.
The Civic EX has a standard power moonroof with tilt feature. Exterior
colors offered this year include Clover Green Pearl/Beige, and Taffeta
White/Gray on all models, Radiant Ruby Pearl/Beige on the LX and EX only,
and Taffeta White/Beige exclusively available on the EX.
Performance
The Honda Civic DX and LX sedans are each equipped with an
aluminum -alloy, SOHC, 16-valve, in-line four-cylinder engine with sequential
port fuel injection that combine to produce 115 horsepower and 110 lb-ft
of torque. The Civic EX achieves greater performance with a VTEC engine
that increases the output to 127 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque.
Each front-wheel drive vehicle is fitted with all-season tires, and the
standard transmission is five-speed manual with optional automatic transmission
offered.
Safety and Security
With a distinct focus on safety these days, the Honda Civic
has responded with world-class safety features that include an ignition
immobilizer theft deterrent system, a driver depowered air bag, passenger
depowered air bag, three-point seatbelts in both the front and rear seating
areas, adjustable front head restraints, child safety locks, and child
seat anchors and tethers. Side impact air bags are available as a key
option.
