2007 Chevy Blazer

A mainstay in the competitive compact sport-utility segment, the Chevrolet Blazer must be doing something right to have lasted so long. And indeed it has, mixing the type of performance SUV shoppers expect with more practical safety and convenience features that are less flashy, but obviously just as necessary. With improved emissions, the 2007 Chevy Blazer is given a more responsible side to go along with its tough, hard-working demeanor.

Available Models
The 2007 Chevy Blazer is offered in an LS model with either two or four-doors, and a sporty Xtreme model. The Xtreme model has two doors and takes the attitude level up a few notches.

Interior Features
Two-door Blazers offer five-passenger seating, while four-door LS models add an extra passenger. LS models have an interior that comes with such standard features as power steering, air conditioning, cloth upholstery, cupholders, split folding rear seat, AM/FM/CD player, digital clock and tachometer. An LS convenience package adds cruise control, tilt steering, power door locks and windows with electric remote-heated exterior mirrors.

While Xtreme models really differentiate themselves with their exterior look, they also have a few unique interior features as well. Deep-tint windows and a leather-wrapped steering wheel head the list of standards, while a range of different audio systems are available, including an in-dash, six-disc CD changer.

Exterior Features
The exterior of the Xtreme is designed to justify the model's name, and it certainly does. Among the standouts that achieve this are P235/60R16 Eagle LS low-profile tires, deep-dish, five-spoke aluminum wheels, lower front fascia with fog lamps, wheel flares, body-colored grille, bumpers, lower cladding and flares and special "Xtreme" badging.

Performance
LS models offer 2WD and 4WD configurations, while the Xtreme comes with 2WD only. The engine across both models is a highly capable Vortec 4300 4.3-liter V6 with 190 horsepower at 4400 rpm and 250 lb-ft of torque at 2800 rpm. 4 speed automatic transmission is standard with four-door LS models, while 5-speed manual transmission is optional with two-door LS models only. Xtremes offer both transmission types.

The Xtreme has Z87 Sport Suspension to handle the bumps on the road. LS models, on the other hand, come with Z85 sporty/firm suspension to accommodate a variety of driving needs.
