2007 GMC Envoy XL
The 2007 GMC Envoy XL is an extended version of the regular size Envoy.
This year a V8 engine, normally found in the full-size class, is newly
available for the XL.
Available Models
The 2007 GMC Envoy XL is offered with SLE and SLT trim-levels and both
rear and front-wheel drive. There are only four-door models.
Interior Features
Even though the 2007 GMC Envoy XL is a utilitarian work-horse with more
room and lots more power than that which is normally available inthe mid-size
SUV class, the interior is still fitted out with an assortment of great
features. For example, cruise control, air conditioning with dual-zone
manual controls, power steering, windows, door locks and a tilt leather-wrapped
steering wheel combine with cloth upholstery, front bucket seats with
lumbar adjustment, second and third row split-folding seats, remote keyless
entry and an AM/FM/CD player. Remote tailgate and rear-window releases
and automatic headlights add to what you can do from the Cab as an extra
convenience feature. Power mirrors, an overhead console and universal
garage-door opener are also part of the XL.
The SLT trim level adds to this list with leather upholstered, 8-way
power front seats, memory settings (driver seat and mirror), dual-zone
automatic climate control, steering-wheel radio and climate controls,
rear radio controls, rear headphone jacks, and an OnStar system with one-year
service (roadside assistance, emergency services). Meanwhile, for better
visibility, an automatic day/night rearview mirror is in place inside.
Exterior Features
The 2007 GMC Envoy XL has a number of great exterior features as well;
including a rear lift gate, rear privacy glass, roof rails, fog lights
and cornering lights. Additional value added includes the full-size spare
8.5 tire, platform hitch and alloy wheels. On the SLT heated, powered
side view mirrors come complete with turn-signal lights and a full roof
rack.
Performance
The 2007 GMC Envoy XL has two engine choices, both of which are powerful.
The XL comes with a 4.2-liter V6 engine capable of 275 horsepower at 6000rpm
and 275lb-ft of torque at 3600rpm. However, a more powerful 5.3-liter
V8 engine is available as an optional extra. This powerhouse has a power
output 290 horsepower at 6000rpm and 325lb-ft of torque at 4000rpm. 4-speed
automatic transmissions do the shifting, capable of 15/21 mpg (city/hwy).
Other mechanical handling or performance features include GM's 4WD AutoTrac
2-speed transfer case and a Class 7 trailer hitch. Skid plates and a limited-slip
differential are optional additions for specific performance enhancements.
Safety and Security
Antilock 4-wheel disc brakes are standard for both trim-levels of Envoy
XL, as are dual front airbags and daytime running lights. Optional safety
add-ons include front-side airbags.
