2007 GMC Safari

The 2007 GMC Safari is a minivan based on a classic truck-mounted design, one of two in the sector (with the Chevy Astro). The result is a solid sporty feel that holds the road with great stability and security, especially in the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) model. A three-door van with good manners, the 2007 GMC Safari will serve as a family runabout as well as it does as a commercial vehicle with lots of room for passengers and cargo.

Available Models
The 2007 GMC Safari has a single 7-passenger model with a few different options packages that can be used to bring up the trim-level. These include a couple of SLE packages and an SLT package as well. In addition, a series of other options packages and major stand-alone options are available.

Interior Features
The base 2007 GMC Safari Passenger has a solid list of basic equipment that starts with the following interior features; cruise control, front air conditioning, AM/FM radio, cloth upholstery on 8-passenger seating including front bucket seats, second row and third row bench seats, tilt power steering, intermittent wipers, automatic headlights and power mirrors, windows and door locks.

However, it is possible to upgrade the trim level to that of an SLE standard by purchasing the major Option Package 1SD. This package adds rear air conditioning and heating, AM/FM/cassette/CD player, 6-way power driver seat, remote keyless entry, rear defogger and an overhead console with compass and outside temp indicator.

Exterior Features
The 2007 GMC Safari has number of standard features including tinted rear glass and a 6-wire trailer harness. However, with the SLE options package are a number of sporty details for the exterior that add value through enhanced style and function. Rear Dutch doors, body-side cladding, alloy wheels and a roof rack are some highlights from the list, AWD adds: all-wheel drive.

Performance
The 2007 GMC Safari has a powerful 4.3-liter V6 engine capable of 190 horsepower at 4400rpm and 250lb-ft of torque at 2800rpm. This 4-speed automatic transmission gets 15/20 mpg (city/hwy). The Safari gets good ratings for handling, acceleration and towing power and is great in AWD in more extreme terrain conditions like snow or sand.

Safety and Security
4-wheel antilock disc brakes are standard for Safari, as are dual front airbags and daytime running lights.
