2007 Land Rover Range Rover
The 2007 Land Rover Range Rover is the largest vehicle in this manufacturer's
line-up. Big brother to the compact Freelander and the slightly smaller
but full-sized comfort-oriented Discovery, the Range Rover has been described
as "the most capable vehicle in the world".
For 2007, the Range Rover has seen the comfort levels be brought up to
rival the supreme standard of the off-road, go anywhere/do anything performance
profile. Add to these two ingredients iconic exterior styling and the
winning combination you are left with can only be Range Rover.
Available Models
The 2007 Land Rover Range Rover comes in only one trim level- the top
one, HSE.
Interior Features
You name it and the 2007 Land Rover Range Rover probably has it as standard
equipment. Air conditioning with dual-zone automatic climate control combines
with leather upholstered power seats with memory settings to provgide
occupant comfort levels that are second to very few.
The list doubles in size when you add driving convenience features like
heated power mirrors, day/night rear-view mirror, power steering etc,
and then doubles again when you add utilitarian functions. Compass, analog
clock, trip computer, DVD navigation system and of course, the Harmon
Kardon premium audio system.
Exterior Features
Changes have been made to the 2007 Range Rover increasing its height and
making it longer than the original model. Also, greater ground clearance
and steeper approach and departure angles add to the capability and the
credible off-road look of this versatile auto.
Performance
The real Range Rover story comes when the hood is opened. This is only
the third all-new Range Rover in 31 years and it has been made with more
power than ever before although with a smaller, lighter and more efficient
powerplant. On this one, an all-aluminum, 4.4-litre V8 BMW manufactured
engine has been thoroughly modified for off-road use on a Land Rover platform
and as such it is fully capable of wading through water, heavy-duty towing
and negotiating steep off-road angles.
A free-revving, 32-valve V8, it produces 282 horsepower at 5,400 rpm
and generates 325 lbs-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm. A state-of-the-art five-speed
transmission provides fully automatic and CommandShift manual operation.
Safety and Security
Billed as the safest Land Rover ever produced, the Range Rover has every
safety innovation the designers could find. Passive safety technology
includes dual front airbags, front side airbags, front and rear side head-protection
airbags, state of the art three-point belts with pretensioners in all
outboard positions and the child seat restraint LATCH system.
Extensive active safety technology includes antilock 4-wheel disc brakes
with brake assist, hill descent control, an antiskid system, a tire-pressure
monitor, and both front- and rear-obstacle-detection systems.
