2007 Saturn L-Series
The L-Series denotes Saturn's line of midsize sedans and wagons. Both
fit into the 'value' class of vehicles, offering all the practical features
customers want without an unnecessarily inflated price tag.
For 2007, Saturn manufacturers took a fine-tooth comb over last year's
model, resulting in a restyled interior and a new-look exterior design.
Since its introduction in 2000, the L-Series has steadily evolved, and
the latest version continues the trend with fresh innovations and a new
set of features.
Available Models
The 2007 Saturn L-Series comes in both sedan and wagon body types. Sedans
are offered in L200 and L300 trims, while wagons are similarly divided
into LW200 and LW300 trims.
Interior Features
Both the sedan and the wagon have four doors and can seat five. Naturally,
the wagon's more spacious interior gives it a greater degree of cargo-carrying
flexibility. The result is a total cargo volume of 79 cubic feet.
Entry-level L200 models receive the following standard features: air
conditioning, an interior air filter, power steering, a tilt steering
wheel, cruise control, cloth upholstery, a center console, cupholders,
power mirrors, windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, an AM/FM/CD
player, a digital clock and more. Uplevel 300 models only add more power.
Exterior Features
The 2007 Saturn L-Series is given jewel-like headlamps and taillamps,
plus a number of chrome touches for a more refined look. In addition to
the distinctive taillamps, the back end of the 2007 Saturn L-Series sedan
also features a new, more substantial-looking fascia.
Performance
The two-pronged engine lineup for the 2007 Saturn L-Series is split along
trim lines. Both the Saturn L200 sedan and the Saturn LW200 wagon come
with a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 135 horsepower at 5200
rpm and 142 lb-ft. of torque at 4400 rpm. 300 models are equipped with
a strong 3.0-liter V6 engine that delivers 182 horsepower at 5600 rpm
and 190 lb-ft. of torque at 3600 rpm.
The 4-cylinder engine is mated to either 4-speed automatic transmission
or 5-speed manual transmission. With the V6, only 4-speed automatic is
offered.
Safety and Security
The 2007 Saturn L-Series is one of the few models in its class with standard
head-curtain airbags. Additional standard safety equipment includes dual
front airbags, daytime running lights and an emergency inside trunk release.
Antilock brakes can be added for a small fee. .
